Ingredients
  • 1 Cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp. Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 7 oz./227 ml. Can Whole Water Chestnuts (drained and rinsed)
  • 1 Pound bacon
  • 1 Container Toothpicks
Servings: People
Instructions
  1. Preheat over to 425 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce. Make sure everything is combined well.
  3. Cut the bacon in half (each strip should only be half the length)
  4. Wrap each water chestnut with half a bacon strip and secure with a toothpick and drop into mixing bowl of sauce mix
  5. Once finished wrapping bacon and water chestnuts, GENTLY fold the sauce over them in the mixing bowl. Make sure that each piece is evenly coated and covered in the sauce.
  6. Using tongs, gently remove the chestnuts from the bowl and place onto baking sheet (if you can, put parchment paper or foil on the bottom of the pan as this helps with the cleanup)
  7. Using a spatula, remove any excess mix from the bowl and pour onto the chestnuts
  8. Bake for 35 minutes
  9. Remove chestnuts from baking tray immediately so they are not sitting in the bacon fat (if there is any) and place on a service plate
