Proud To Sponsor “Friends of We Care”
“Friends of We Care” is a network of 84 Member Sponsor organizations from the Foodservice and Hospitality Industry whose collective objective is to bring joy to kids with disabilities. Manufacturers, distributors, operators and brokers as well as cold storage, management and marketing companies donate their time and resources to help send Canadian children with disabilities to specialized Easter Seals summer camps. Chase Global Foods has just become a Member Sponsor and is proud to participate in this worthwhile endeavor.
Member Sponsors are an integral part of the organization as their annual membership fees covers all of the Friends of We Care operating expenses. That means that 100% of the funds that are raised from donations and various events held across Canada go directly to funding joyful and memorable camp experiences for children nationwide. Since 1983, enlightened companies, generous donors and committed volunteers have helped raise thousands of dollars to send over 38,000 children to summer camps across Canada.
“Friends of We Care” relies on events as a major fundraising tool too. Throughout the year, they work with countless volunteers to bring the Foodservice and Hospitality Industry together by creating various, fun, team-building events such as bowling and softball with the goal of raising funds to send kids with disabilities to summer camp. On Saturday, May 6th, 2017, Chase Global Foods will be participating in yet another fun fundraising events; the Enchanted Forest We Care Dinner & Awards Gala.
GOLFING FOR A GREAT CAUSE – May 2016 Me-n-Ed’s Charity Golf for Parkinson’s
“Dear Golfers, Sponsors and Supporters
What a wonderful day we had for our 9th Annual Me-n-Ed’s Charity Golf for Parkinson’s last week! The weather was great, people’s generosity was overflowing and Michael came to share the day with us!! Wow – was that ever special! Thank you Michael for the thrill and the honour of having you join us, it meant so much to us. We could not have asked for a better day and our final tally was just over $25,000 raised for Parkinson’s Society of B.C. and the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. This is all possible because of all of you. We say it over and over again – how very fortunate we are, to be surrounded by so many wonderful people in our lives. It really feels like a family to us and we hope you feel the same.
Together we are helping fund the critical research and support programs for those living with Parkinson’s and if we all keep the optimism, hope and positive attitude that Michael exudes, we can believe that a cure for this disease will happen soon.
We have included the group picture we took that day for your photo albums and memory banks.
Thank you from all of us at Me-n-Ed’s and Parkinson’s Society of B.C. and the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research!!
Have a great summer and see you all again next year.
The Me-n-Ed’s Team”
We even got to meet Michael J. Fox!
Chase Global Foods Supports Big Brothers Big Sisters “BOWL FOR KIDS’ SAKE”
On May the 4th, the force was absolutely with Chase Global Foods as we participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters “BOWL FOR KIDS’ SAKE” fundraiser. The event was themed after the Star Wars movie, The Empire Strikes Back.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters “BOWL FOR KIDS’ SAKE” event helps to fund programs for “at risk” children and youth in the Oshawa-Whitby community. Chase Global Foods cares about youth and community, so we took this opportunity to get involved both by becoming a Lane Sponsor as well as by raising funds.
There’s a reason it’s called “fun-draising”.
EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS – Fort McMurray Red Cross Donations
More than 88,000 people have been displaced from their homes in and around the area of Fort McMurray, Alberta due to ravaging wildfires which began May 1st, 2016. To date, the fires have consumed 570,000 acres of vegetation and everything else in its path. Most people lost all of their material possessions. We at Chase Global Foods, simply could not stand by and do nothing. So like any other concerned Canadian company, we made a meaningful donation to the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Fires Emergency Appeal. Small or large, every dollar counts. So we encourage you to join us in the collective effort to help the people of Fort McMurray by donating at the link below.
Big Brothers Big Sisters WISH LIST
Christmastime Family Sponsorship
Helping the community is important to Chase Global Foods year round. Yet, what better time is there than Christmas to exercise the spirit of giving? For the second consecutive year, Chase Global Foods made a family’s Christmas Wish List come true in Big Brothers Big Sisters WISH LIST program. Yes, each and every member of the Chase Global Foods team gave generously of their own free will, helped wrap and even delivered the gifts, plus each of the donations was matched dollar for dollar by Chase Global Foods Inc. The result of this sharing was one less family in need and five more lives filled with joy!
